I'll be honest, I haven't used this company, just called them to make a booking and ask for some advice. We were interested in wild camping one night to break a two day trip, so asked whether there was anywhere we could do this. I would have thought the fact I was asking was proof enough that I wasn't some sort of irresponsible idiot or a rule-breaking rogue, but as soon as I'd uttered the filthy words"wild camp" I was spoken to rather differently and with prejudice. Obviously wild camping is something that must be done responsibly and with great discretion, and I was asking because often there are areas that locals know about where it is informally permitted and doesn't bother anyone. I came off the phone feeling like I'd had a decent dressing down, from the person on the phone and the owner who was obviously in the room. I won't say it was outright rude but it certainly wasn't very pleasant.Anyway, obviously this doesn't have any bearing on whether they're good at hiring out canoes, I'm sure there great at it. But I'm exercising my internet-given right to share my opinion about my limited interaction with them. And yes I am probably posting this out of anger at being a little bit belittled, and might delete it later, but that's my two cents right now.You don't own the entire river just cos you hire out canoes on a bit of it.
Location of Survivors filming by BBC in 1975. This is known as 'Foy Bridge' and is unusual in its construction. It appears in one of the early first series stories in a scene with Carolyn Seymour, Lucy Fleming and Ian McCullough. It is a little awkward to find but easily accessible and crossed when there. The original series has a strong following and the BBC have reproduced a full box set which is worth a look.
Good trip but staff not very helpful or welcoming
Really great team, couldnt recommend more. Flexible, friendly and patient with a large group and really good value and great communication.
Very friendly, family business. Good safety talk and made sure the kids were safe. Very easy to book and use. Great day and worth the money.
